The DENR-UNDP/GEF Biodiversity Corridor Project held its second inter-agency technical working group (TWG) meeting, a week following its Eastern Mindanao site inception workshops in Regions 13 and 11.
The BD Corridor Project, otherwise known as the Integrated Approach in the Management of Biodiversity Corridors in the Philippines, conducted its 2nd TWG meeting last March 24 at the DENR-BMB Training Center.
Glenn Noble, OIC Director of the DENR Policy and Planning Service and new chair of the Project TWG, chaired the second TWG meeting for the Project.
Matters Arising
The TWG proceeded to review and adopt the minutes of 1st TWG meeting, while Dr. Mary Jean Caleda as National Project Manager presented updates to the Project implementation.
The body also proceeded to thresh out matters arising from the 1st TWG meeting, including online or virtual conduct of next TWG meetings and acceptance of new TWG members.
Corridor Project Updates
Tanya Conlu, corridor project manager of the Eastern Mindanao Biodiversity Corridor, proceeded to provide updates regarding EMBC including the recently concluded EMBC site inception workshop in Davao and Butuan.
Karla Mangundayao, DENR Region 4B Project focal, meanwhile provided updates to the Mindoro Biodiversity Corridor including the results of the recent hiring process.
Ariel Erasga, the Project NRM Officer, presented the proposed DENR-led cross-sectoral consultation activities and their projected schedules in mid-2022. (Mitch R. Confesor)
